USPGA Golf Betting OddS
The odds have been updated following the rain interrupted round 3 at the USPGA Championship. New favourite at 7/2 is the former British Open winner, Ben Curtis, who finished the third round today with a 68 and leads the tournament by one stroke from overnight leader JB Holmes and the Swede, Henrik Stenson. These three players are the only ones who made it this far under par. Curtis is at -2, while the other two are at -1. Stenson in fact could be the spearhead in a three prong European assault on the Championship that no European has ever won. The other two europeans in contention are Sergio Gracia and Open Champion, Padraig Harrington they are three behind Curtis and both are playing fantastically well. Due to the weather the final round will be played in Groups of three, which means Harrington and Garcia will slug it out together along with the outsider, Charlie Wie. It is a re-match of their epic duel at the OPen Championship of 2007. Justin Rose, who was in contention for so long slipped down the field with a 74 and is one of 17 player who are within 6 of the lead.
Outright odds currently
- 7/2 Curtis
- 4/1 Stenson
- 4/1 Harrington
- 9/2 Garcia
- 6/1 JB Holmes
- 14/1 Romero
- 20/1 Wie
- 33/1 Mickelson
The odds of course will change hole by hole, as the evening goes on. The beauty of punting on golf tournaments is that the odds are usually generous, even though sometimes it may be necesary to shop around. There are any plenty of Free bet offers around too.
Punters should also be aware of the many different types of bets available, for instance if your fancy is Padraig Harrington, you can bet on him to win or bet on him each way at odds that are currently 14/1. That bet can then be covered to some degree if you were also to bet on Harrington to finish in the top ten for example for this you can get odds of around 6/4. He can also be backed to be top European, top Irish player, top Major winner, to make the cut etc etc. There are simply lots of options and combined with the free bet offers mentioned above the punter can find himself winning tidy sums, while watching the golf on TV.
