Trevor Immelman

PGA Championship Trevor ImmelmanCurrent US Masters Champion, South African Trevor Immelmanm is the latest of the top South Africans to pick up a Major Title, when he won the Masters from Tiger Woods in April. He played superbly well and his tee to green display in the first three rounds was awesome. It has to be said that he was a surprise winner, he had not shown too much form coming into the event but his fellow professionals all knew that he was a golfer with the capability. He has had only two other top ten Major tournament finishes to his name, he was 6th in the PGA last year and in 2005 he was 5th in the Masters. In 2006,Trevor played some of his best golf and finished in the yop ten of the PGA Tour money list and was named 'Rookie of the Year'. The Masters win brought his professional tally to ten worldwide tournament wins with the likelihood of more to come.

World Ranking

His Masters win hoisted him up to number 15 in the world rankings, but that has slipped recently to 19th

Playing Style

Trevor has a good all round game, although from time to time his accuracy from tee to green lets him down. His approach play was also suspect for a time but his short game often made up for this. He is as good as anyone on the greens on his day.
