Stewart Cink
Stewart Cink is riding the crest of a wave following his first Major victory at Turnberry in the British Open recently. He played brilliant all week and beat Tom Watson on a Play-Off to claim a win he has been threatening for years. He has been a professional for 14 years, and in that time has achieved eight top ten finishes in Majors. His next best finish was 3rd in the PGA Championship in 1999, behind Tiger Woods, he was also third at the US Open in 2001 behind Retief Goosen and was a very creditable 3rd in the 2008 US Masters behind Trevor Immelman.
He has had 13 top tier professional tournament wins but until winning the Cromwell Travellers Tournament in June 2008, he had not won an event since 2004. Including his 3rd place in the US Masters, Stewart has had 7 top ten finishes on tour in 2008 and has 13 pro wins in total. He has been a member of the US Ryder Cup team on the last three occasions.
World Ranking
Stewart is currently ranked 9th in the world, following his win at Turnberry in the British Open.
Playing Style
Stewart Cink has a very solid game with no real weakness's. His performances on all types of course's bears this out. He hits the ball long and usually accurately. He is one of the best iron players on tour and an excellent putter. If he could improve anywhere it would be his short game, where some have said that he lacks creativity.
