He has a 5th place spot in the British Open in 2005 and was a very creditable 9th in the 2008 US Open. He has also won two World Golf Championship events, the Accentura Matchplay in 2006 and the CA Championship also in 2008. In that event he had the likes of Tiger Woods, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh and Retief Goosen all tied second, behind him. That win proved beyond any doubt that Geoff has what it takes to compete at the very top and he must have a good chance to win this year.
