Anthony Kim - PGA Championship
Anthony is one of the upcoming young guns of golf on the PGA tour, having only turned professional two years ago. He had a great first year finishing in the top ten in four tournaments and breaking into the world's top 100 ranked players. He recorded his first tour win in May this year, when breaking the scoring record of Tiger Woods, to claim victory at the Wachovia Championship. He won the tournament by five shots and was the youngest player for six years to win a PGA tour event. He has since gone on to win a second Tournament on the tour when taking the AT and T Invitational in July and proved his consistency by grabbing an excellent tie for 7th place in the British Open and an 8th place a week later in the Canadian Open. He has had three further top ten finishes on the 2008 tour. Anthony has to be regarded as one of the form players at present. He is a strong candidate for this year's US Ryder Cup team and was a member of the winning US Walker Cup Team in 2005. Although he has yet to achieve a top ten finish in a Major event, Anthony certainly has the talent to do so. Perhaps that will come here at the PGA Championship.
World Ranking
He is currently ranked 15th in the world.
Playing Style
Anthony is a very long hitter with a rapidly improving and very accurate approach game. He is very much an attacking player unafraid to go for his shots and backing himself to make them. His short game is not the best at present but this is an area of his game that he is working on
