Adam Scott - PGA Championship

PGA Championship Adam ScottAdam Scott from Australia is a player who is expected to win big things, he plays most of his golf on the PGA Tour in the USA these days but does appear regularly at events on the European Tour too. He has been tipped as a future Major winner and has already had four top ten Major finishes, including two at the PGA Championship. His 3rd place in this event in 2006 was in fact his best Major performance to date; he was 12th last year, behind Tiger Woods. He has been a regular tournament winner since 2001 in which time he has amassed 14 titles and is fast becoming one of the most consistent achievers on the golf circuits. With two titles already this year, firstly at the Qatar Masters, where he scored an astonishing final round 11 under par, 61, to beat Swede, Henrik Stenson by three shots. He then followed that up with a win in the EDS Byron Nelson Classic. Add those wins to two other top ten finishes in the early part of the year you can understand why he became the number three player in the world. More recently however his form has taken on more modest proportions and his recent finishes suggest that he must improve big time if he is going to win this week. He has been managing to make the cuts but has not really been in contention in any of his last five events, including his Tied 16th position in the British Open last month and his Tied 26th in the US Open before that.Oakland Hills in great form. It is little wonder that he is being hailed as Australia’s successor to Greg Norman.
